2018 undergraduates majoring in information security beat other majors in terms of monthly income, with earnings of 6,972 yuan ($1,013.64) each month, while those studying software engineering came in second place, according to the annual College Graduates' Employment Report.
The ranking is part of the report based on a survey of 303,000 graduates from 30 provincial-level regions initiated six months after they left school. The figure includes 152,000 undergraduates and 151,000 graduates of higher vocational colleges. MyCOS, an education consulting and research institute in Beijing, released the report.
The ranking showed high salaries often go to graduates from majors related to the information industry, such as network engineering, information engineering and computer science and technology, as the rapid development in the sector and upgrading of traditional industries has led to more demand for talent.
Now let's look at which majors are on the top 10 list.
