The second China Sanya International Piano Music Week got underway on July 19 in Sanya, a southernmost tourism city in Hainan province, running until July 23. Held by the Sanya municipal government, the music week is regarded as also a celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
Ten lectures, five concerts, eight lecture concerts, four exhibitions, and a forum will be organized during the five-day event. Guests and musicians from various countries and regions will stage passionate performances and display the charm of the piano. Among them, Chu Wanghua, a famous pianist in China, and other renowned pianists from across the world will deliver professional lectures for piano enthusiasts and educators.
The concerts include performances of Hainan-style piano works performed by renowned pianists, works by Hong Kong composers, and Belgian pianists.
Young pianists from all over China will also be invited to Sanya to showcase their skills, while also learning from each other.
The second China Sanya International Piano Music Week gathers numerous top pianists, composers, and performers. It is supported by 17 music academies in China including renowned institutions like the Central Conservatory of Music and the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Visitors to the event can both enjoy elegant piano music and learn piano skills.
