An expressway to ease traffic pressure in the western area of Shenyang city is speeding up construction. It is expected to open to traffic by the end of this year, officials said.
The 5.8 kilometer-long expressway starts in the Lanjun Road section of the Second Ring Road in the north and ends at the intersection of PC1 Road and Hunnan Avenue in the south.
It will join Qingnian Avenue and Nanjing Street, serving residents living in the western urban area of Shenyang and easing the south-north direction traffic pressure of the city.
Currently, the pier columns of the expressway are 68 percent complete and the erection of steel beams are 33 percent complete.
