The 14th Harbin International Dancing Championship will be held at the Harbin Convention and Exhibition Center on July 19-21.
Having been held for 13 consecutive years, it has become one of the most important dance events in the Northeast China region and plays an important role in promoting Harbin in China and abroad, organizers said.
Compared with previous events, this year’s dance championship features an increasing number of participants and a larger competition scale.
The organizing committee said that around 6,000 participants from 200 teams will test their skills in the event, including international participants from 16 countries such as Russia, Ukraine, Finland, Poland and Israel.
Participants will battle it out in 459 group competitions involving different types of dance -- including modern, Latin American and ballroom dancing.
World champions of modern and Latin American dance will also be invited to give demonstrations of their skills.
The dance championship is also the part of the 2019 Charming Harbin Summer Event, designed to boost regional culture exchanges and the tourism market, organizers added.
