Guo Guirong, vice-mayor of Xiamen in southeastern Fujian province met with Bolla Szilard, consul general of Hungary in Shanghai, as well as the latter's delegation on Wednesday.
Guo extended a warm welcome to Szilard. She gave a presentation on Xiamen's business environment and its efforts for sustainable economic and social development.
"Xiamen attaches great importance to China-Europe freight trains and is striving to build itself into a hub city linking the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road," Guo said.
Guo added that she hoped that the consul general would take the visit as an opportunity to promote the practical cooperation between the two sides in multiple fields.
Szilard said that he looked forward to seeing more exchanges between Xiamen and Hungary in commerce and trade, culture, tourism and other areas.
During his visit to Xiamen, Szilard also visited Xiamen University and Xiamen Airlines, and further discussed cooperation between Hungary and Xiamen in education, aviation, sports and the business investment.
