Shenyang, capital city of Northeast China’s Liaoning province, has offered direct high-speed rail service to Chongqing in Southwest China since July 10, according to the China Railway Shenyang Group Co Ltd.
This is the first high-speed rail travelling from Northeast China to Chongqing.
The G1284/1 train departs from Shenyang North Railway Station at 7:00 every day and arrives at Chongqing West Station at 23:09, travelling 16 hours and 9 minutes.
The G1282/3 train departs from Chongqing West Station at 7:20 every day and arrives at Shenyang North Railway Station at 23:13, travelling 15 hours and 53 minutes.
With a travel duration of about 16 hours between the two places, the new high-speed rail service saves passengers more than 23 hours, compared to regular trains.
Prior to this train being implemented, direct high-speed rail service was not offered for passengers travelling between Shenyang and Chongqing, and passengers had to transfer in cities like Beijing, Xi’an or Chengdu.
The new service will bring great convenience to travellers between Shenyang and Chongqing, said local authorities.
