In celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 20th anniversary of Macao's return to China, a delegation of Macao youths was invited to visit Congjiang county, Southwest China's Guizhou province from July 14 to 17 to enhance the communication between both areas.

Congjiang, a poverty-stricken area in Qiandongnan Miao and Dong autonomous prefecture, was paired up with Macao in 2018 for poverty alleviation efforts. It has since achieved breakthroughs in its education, industry, and tourism sectors.

The delegation was impressed by the natural sceneries, friendly ethnic groups, and rich culture in Congjiang. The youths learned about traditional handicraft arts, such as batik and the textile process of the Dong ethnic group.

A symposium was also held during the four-day visit to allow youths from Macao and Guizhou to discuss and share experiences in big data development in both areas.

Guizhou believes that its lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets. As a result, it is committed to a green development path.

Han Zhuyang, vice-president of the Guizhou Institute of Quantum Information and Big Data Applied Technology, introduced Guizhou's efforts in digital economy and data sharing, which has made the province a popular place for its growing big data industry.

The Macao youths said that they look forward to more frequent exchanges with Guizhou to boost the understanding of the economy, livelihood, and culture between both areas, as well as enhance the relationship between them.
