A Medical Device Innovation Club was inaugurated in Suzhou New District, Jiangsu province, on July 7.
As a non-governmental non-profit organization, the new club aims to bring together the most active high-end innovation resources in the field of medical devices for research and development, production, investment and supervision.
The club plans to organize various professional meetings and academic forums to enhance mutual understating between its members -- in a bid to advance the development of the high-end medical devices industry and in vitro diagnostic reagents in China.
According to Wang Feng, secretary-general of the Medical Device Innovation Club, the club has now attracted more than 80 members, including directors of medical devices manufacturers from home and abroad, university professors and presidents of top hospitals in China.
Wang said that these high-caliber professionals will vigorously guide and promote the development of medical devices industry in Suzhou New District.
Suzhou New District has always prioritized recruiting top-flight people for its three pillar industries, namely medical devices, new-generation information technology and new energy.
For the medical devices industry, the district is home to more than 200 such companies that are seeing annual growth rates of 20 percent in output value and in addition, there are currently 10 innovation platforms, including the Southeast University-University of Birmingham Biomedical Engineering Research Center.
