The fourth Folk Tourism Culture Art Week and the Holy Water Festival opened in Yematu village in Hohhot, in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on July 8.
Themed on experiencing folk culture and beautiful villages, the art week runs from July 4 to July 11.
The event integrates folk culture, intangible cultural heritage and ethnic culture, carrying forward traditional Chinese way of life and celebrating the village in Chinese society.
It features a number of cultural activities, including traditional yangko dances, papercuts, shehuo performances and a horse show.
During the opening ceremony, Yematu was granted the status as Xikou Post Station, recognizing the historical context of the village.
The organizers said that the event enriches people's lives and promotes the development of the village's economy and tourism industry.
The event is sponsored by the tourism department of Hohhot and the government of Xincheng district.
