Xiamen University seeks exchange with Macao universities

Xiamen University's (XMU) original modern drama "Goldbach's Conjecture" will soon be staged at the University of Macau.

On July 9, in advance of the drama, Xu Jingong, director of the publicity department of XMU, visited the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao Special Administrative Region.

Xu Ting, director of the education and youth affairs department of the liaison office, welcomed the XMU delegation and affirmed the importance of the drama in spreading patriotism and the spirit of science.

Xu Jingong expressed his hope to further promote cultural exchange between Macao universities and mainland universities through such activities.

"Goldbach's Conjecture" tells the story of Chen Jingrun, a graduate of the Mathematics Department of XMU in 1953 who has served at his alma mater as a teaching assistant since 1955.

His work on many challenging problems, such as the Goldbach's conjecture, led to progress in the field of analytic number theory.
