Kangle Grassland in Sunan Yugur autonomous county welcomed a rare snowfall last Sunday, in Northwest China's Gansu province.
Three centimeters of snow hit the Qilian Mountains around 5 am on July 7, a very rare phenomenon on the day of the traditional Chinese lunar calendar's summer solstice, which marks midsummer in the year.
Locals and tourists enjoyed the sudden snow with the otherworldly hills dotted with resplendent wildflowers in the background.
Heavy rainfall is in the forecast, with the local meteorological administration identifying potential weather-related hazards.
