More sports venues to open in Changchun

The Changchun Olympic Park, located in the capital of Jilin province, is expected to finish construction on a fitness center in August, according to local authorities.

The park, located in Changchun New Area, occupies an area of around 527,600 square meters and will offer sports training, facilities for fitness and competitions, entertainment, tourist attractions, and commerce exhibitions. It is capable of hosting large domestic sporting events.

The park’s stadium, gymnasium, and natatorium began operating last August to meet the needs of Jilin's 18th Sports Meet. When the fitness center is completed, the four sports venues will gradually open to the public.

The fitness center, located in the southeastern section of the park, covers an area of 7,500 sq m. Its main structure is comprised of four floors with a total construction area of 35,900 sq m. The first floor contains 18 standard badminton fields, a fitness room, a restaurant, a bowling alley, an activity room, and a store, the second floor has a table tennis training hall, a warm-up area for track-and-field, and a 300-meter nonstandard track, the third floor features another five badminton fields, as well as dance, gymnastics, and martial arts halls, and the fourth floor consists of tennis and squash courts, as well as clubs for billiards, fighting, and yoga.
