Jilin introduces inspection center for vaccines

The unveiling ceremony for the Jilin Vaccine Inspection Center was held in Changchun, capital of Jilin province, on July 5.

Shi Yugang, vice-governor of Jilin, addressed the ceremony, stressing that the center should strengthen controls on vaccine quality, promote reforms in the Jilin drug regulation system, and help implement the newly-issued Vaccine Management Law.

After the ceremony, the Jilin Drug Administration held a meeting to discuss supervision of vaccine manufacturers. Liu Baofang, head of the administration, chaired the meeting and urged the administration to implement the Vaccine Management Law.

Liu said that efforts should be made to close loopholes in the manufacture of vaccines and illegal acts need to be cracked down on.

The center will make use of big data and the internet to improve supervision models and establish a vaccine inspector management system to improve the professionalism and discipline of vaccine inspectors.
