Yantai to host coastal festival in July

The second coastal festival is scheduled to be held in Yantai, a coastal city in East China's Shandong province, on July 11.

Hosted by the Yantai municipal publicity department and the Yantai culture and tourism bureau, the festival, which lasts to Oct 12, is designed to promote the city's coastal culture and tourism industry.

This year's event themed around "Hi, Yantai" will set up four themed activities covering the opening ceremony, coastal arts, coastal gourmet food, coastal leisure and coastal sports.

The opening ceremony and main venue will be staged at the Coastal Square in Zifu district and sub-venues will take place around a number of iconic scenes along the 100-kilometer coastline from Yangma Island to Penglai Pavilion including Yantai Mountain and Golden Beach.
