As night arrives, visitors to Zhouzhuang, an iconic water town in Jiangsu province could only savor the captivating night view, but also some audiovisual feasts staged in the town.
Kunqu Opera, one of the oldest forms of Chinese opera, originates from Kunshan, the city in Jiangsu that administers Zhouzhuang.
Visitors to the Pear Garden, formerly known as Zhouzhuang Ancient Opera Stage, are able to enjoy Kunqu Opera, Wuxi Opera, Shaoxing Opera and Shanghai Opera in the evening. The performance time runs from 18:30 pm to 20:30 pm.
The live-action show Zhouzhuang in Four Seasons, a visual and musical extravaganza that promises to allow visitors to get to know Zhouzhuang in just one night, is another excellent choice. Based around a classic love story set during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), the show has been a huge hit with audiences since it first debuted in 2007 thanks to its sumptuous visuals. The show will be staged every evening at 7-8 pm until November.
Tickets are only 150 yuan ($23) per person, 280 yuan for VIP seats.
