A China-Mongolia joint laboratory for applied molecular biology, supported by Inner Mongolia Agricultural University, was recently included on a list of 14 "Belt and Road" joint laboratories released by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
The laboratory was established on Feb 22, 2016 in Ulaanbaatar, capital of Mongolia. It is Inner Mongolia's first "Belt and Road" joint laboratory.
The laboratory's primary missions include subject development, joint research, talent training, and mechanism innovation.
Xing Haiming, Chinese ambassador to Mongolia, said that China attaches great importance to the laboratory.
Xing said that the laboratory improves scientific and technological cooperation between China and Mongolia and plays an active role in promoting academic exchanges.
"Belt and Road" joint laboratories are national research platforms approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2019. They provide technical support for the Belt and Road Initiative.
