The Sansui-Shibing Expressway connecting Sansui county and Shibing county in Qiandongnan Miao and Dong autonomous prefecture, Southwest China's Guizhou province recently opened to traffic. It reduces the driving time from two hours to 50 minutes, which will contribute to the poverty alleviation efforts in the area.
With the help of big data platforms and the application of building information modeling (BIM), the construction contractor overcame complicated geological conditions and completed the construction with high standards, quality, and efficiency.
The Sansui-Shibing Expressway features 26 bridges and eight tunnels. Upon completion, it met its goal of zero quality defects, accidents, and environment damage during the construction. The transportation project integrates ethnic customs and natural sceneries, contributing to local economic development.
The opening of the Sansui-Shibing Expressway will connect key scenic spots such as Zhenyuan Old Town, Wuyang River, Shanmu River, and Yuntai Mountain to provide transportation support for the development of tourism in Qiandongnan.
