A total of 178 volunteers are to offer their services at the 16th China (Changchun) International Automobile Expo, which will be held in Changchun, capital of Northeast China's Jilin province, from July 12 to 21, according to local authorities.
The volunteers are mostly students from Jilin University, and they will offer their services in security, promotions, consultations and management during the event.
Initiated in 1999, the auto expo has been held 15 times and has developed into one of five major auto shows in China.
During last year’s expo, a total of 1,380 cars -- including 148 new energy vehicles from 150 auto brands such as FAW, FAW-Volkswagen, Benz, BMW, and Rolls-Royce -- participated.
This year, automakers from Germany, the United States, Canada, Australia, and other countries will participate in the event to showcase their latest products and cutting-edge technologies.
The event is expected to boost the development of Changchun’s auto sector, as well as drive economic growth in sectors such as tourism, logistics and energy.
