An exhibition of the belongings of General Chang Hsueh-liang – in pinyin Zhang Xueliang – from his autumn years opened at the Marshal Zhang’s Mansion Museum in Shenyang, capital of Northeast China’s Liaoning province, on July 2.
The exhibition is being jointly hosted by Shenyang Palace Museum and Northeastern University, and organized by Marshal Zhang’s Mansion Museum, which occupies the general’s former residence.
Chang Hsueh-liang (1901-2001) was a patriotic hero who was born in Liaoning province.
The exhibition is displaying more than 60 belongings of Chang and his wife, including articles of daily use, clothes and medical supplies. The depiction of the apartment in Hawaii that Chang used to live in is also on display, helping to recount stories about the general in his autumn years.
