Lanzhou Silk Road Festival
Lanzhou Silk Road Festival was founded on 1992, and held annually ever since. The Silk Road was a route that linked central Asia, with west Asia and Europe in the 2 AD for trade and friendly exchanges.
During the festival, specially organized tour of Dunhuang would be included. It starts from Lanzhou, along Qilian Mountain to the west, and passes through Wuwei, Zhangye, Jiuquan, Jiayuguan, and finally arrives in Dunhuang. The scenery alongside is quite spectacular, visitors can also climb sandy hills and enjoy themselves.
With the theme of “openness, friendship and development”, the festival integrates culture, tourism, trade, science and technology exchanges, and takes science and technology, economic and trade exchanges as the main focus. During the festival, various kinds of commodity fairs are arranged. Famous, excellent, local and special products are gathered together, and high-tech achievements are also presented, which adds new colors and charms to Lanzhou.
Fu Hsi Cultural Festival
Fu Hsi Cultural Festival is a traditional Chinese folk festival held annually in Tianshui city, Gansu province.
After years of efforts, the festival has developed into one of the “top ten festivals with the greatest development potential in China”. It is annually held on the 13th day of the fifth lunar month every year. According to legend, this day is the birthday of Fu Hsi, one China’s ancestors, with Tianshui being his hometown.
China Dunhuang Grape Festival
Grapes abound in Yangguan (an ancient town in Dunhuang city) since ancient times. Recognized as one of the world’s most suitable planting areas of grapes, Dunhuang city in recent years has consecutively held China Dunhuang Grape Festival, integrating grape sales promotion, investment promotion and cultural exhibition, tourism.
It also combined the grape industry with cultural tourism and strengthened the external exchanges, promoting the development of tourism. The festival activities usually include camel riding contest, 100 people wood carving contest, special melons and fruits exhibition, ten famous fresh grapes exhibition, as well as “grape fairy” float parade.
