Mr Tea Kong, Cambodian Minister-Counselor to China, talked with China Daily about the two countries' practical cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
On behalf of the Cambodian people he expressed his heartfelt gratitude to China for helping to build hydropower and power transmission projects in Cambodia that contributed to the Cambodian economy.
“It transmits not only electricity, but also love and friendship to Cambodian people,” the Minister-Counselor said.
Believing the Belt and Road Initiative can promote shared development of the involved countries, the Cambodian Prime Minister has called on more countries to join it. Tea Kong considers that by working under the BRI, members will make the world a global village and a community of shared future for mankind.
He said Cambodia is willing to learn from China’s experiences of reform and opening-up in the past 40 years and work with China for practical cooperation and mutual development.
