An international flight route connecting Shenyang in Northeast China’s Liaoning province to Bangkok, capital city of Thailand, opened on June 25.
The flight is operated by AirAsia -- Asia’s first low-cost airline -- is served by an Airbus A330 and runs every Tuesday and Thursday.
Flight number XJ838/9 departs Shenyang Taoxian International Airport at 22:15 hrs local time and arrives in Bangkok at 03:50 Beijing time the next day. The return flight takes off from Bangkok at 15:10 hrs on Beijing time and lands in Shenyang at 21:05.
The new service is being offered to meet the increasing demand for travel and trade between Shenyang and Thailand.
“In 2018, there were 38 million international visitors to Thailand, among which Chinese tourists ranked first, reaching 10.5 million,” said Ren Rong, representative of the Thailand National Tourism Administration in Shenyang.
“The direct Shenyang-Bangkok flight has undoubtedly provided a choice for tourists from Northeast China to travel to Thailand.”
