Quzhou Day kicked off in style on July 1 at the Zhejiang exhibition area of the 2019 International Horticultural Exhibition in Beijing, which runs through to July 15.
With the theme Home of Southern Confucianism and Model City of Courtesy, Quzhou showcased its rich history and modern development with games of chess as well as displays of Confucius culture -- as well as presentations of its achievements made in building itself into a garden city.
In addition, displays of local products and performances about local traditional culture are being rolled out during the event --, including bamboo plaited items, root carvings, Kaihua paper, tea leaves and a puppet show.
The 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition opened to the public on April 29 at the foot of the Great Wall and will last until Oct 7.
More than 110 countries and international organizations, as well as 120 nongovernmental organizations and provincial or local exhibitors, are showing off their latest floricultural techniques in 100 gardens.
