Logistics is an emerging industry in Hebei that benefits from its convenient location, major logistics hubs in Shijiazhuang, Tangshan, Langfang, Handan and Zhangjiakou, and other major logistics and distribution facilities. The province's ports, railways and roads are contributing to the development of a modern logistics system that relies on domestic demand, interacts with Beijing and Tianjin, serves the whole country, and connects to the outside world.
In 2016, the Hebei provincial government issued its five-year (2016-20) plan to build itself into an important base for modern trade and logistics around the country. It is expected that by 2020, the logistics industry will become a key pillar industry of the province, and a one-hour modern logistics circle serving Beijing and Tianjin will be built up.
With a yearly growth rate of 7.5 percent, the gross product of the province's modern logistics industry will reach 12 trillion yuan ($1.73 trillion) by 2020, while the added value of the industry will be 400 billion yuan with an annual increase of 9 percent.
There will be 15 large logistics enterprises in the province that will enter the list of China's top 100 logistics enterprises by 2020, and a group of nationwide influential logistics brands will be formed.
