Wang Jinjian, Party secretary of Wuxi National Hi-tech District, met with Michael Smith, chairman of the UK's National Institute for Health Research, on June 24, exchanging ideas on business cooperation and innovation.

During the Boao Forum for Asia on March 27, AstraZeneca, the world's leading supplier of prescription drugs and medical services, signed an agreement to build its international life-science innovation park in Wuxi.

The new park is expected to provide a strong innovation center for start-ups at home and abroad to develop new medical products and technologies that meet more patients' needs.

Michael Smith said he was pleased to learn of WND's efforts to explore the green channel of drug approval, clinical and commercialization in the new life-science innovation park and its great support for the development of the life-science industry.
