Zhejiang to pilot future community construction in Quzhou

Lixian Community in Kecheng district of Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, was included among the list of the pilot future community construction in Zhejiang, according to Zhejiang Provincial Development and Reform Commission on June 27.

The province recently released a work program on the construction of "future communities" as a major task for the current year. Officials said that the concept of future communities – with their focus on harmony, green development, intelligence and sharing – are designed to improve the quality of life of residents.

Lixian Community boasts abundant public resources with kindergartens, primary schools, hospitals and parks near at hand.

According to plan, the apartments built in the 1970s to 1990s in the community will be renovated.

With a total investment of 5.3 billion yuan ($775.76 billion), the project is expected to bring benefit to 8,007 residents and introduced 500 various talents.

The to-be-built future community features harmonious neighborhood, lifelong learning principle, affordable and complete healthcare, improved services for startups, low carbon lifestyle, and convenient community services.

A total of 24 communities in the province were included in the pilot list. Roughly 122,600 residents will benefit from the project and 62,700 talents will be introduced.
