Guizhou Phosphate & Chemical (Group) Co Ltd is completely funded by Guizhou province and holds the provincial government's stock shares in enterprises including Kailin and Wengfu.

He Guangliang, board chairman and Party secretary of Guizhou Phosphate & Chemical Group, said that the group's establishment carries high expectations. "While Wengfu has grasped leading phosphorus mining technology, Kailin is blessed with high grade rock phosphate. The integration of both enterprises will promote the added value of phosphorous resources in Guizhou province, specifically in phosphorus application on fertilizer, industrial, food, electronic, and medical products."

The integration of Kailin and Wengfu is also expected to upgrade the structure of products, technology, management, green production, and anti-risk capabilities.

"The group is estimated to become the biggest supplier of fluorine resources worldwide at the beginning of 2020," added He.

Phosphorus rocks are a significant resource in Guizhou, and the province took the lead to enact strict industrial regulation to reduce pollution caused by phosphorus production in 2018. To make full use of phosphogypsum, the waste product of phosphorus-related production, government regulation requires that the output of the phosphorus enterprise must depend on the utilization of the phosphogypsum. Hence enterprises need to develop technology for phosphogypsum recycling.

Last year, the use ratio of phosphogypsum recycling has increased by 24 percent to 67 percent in Guizhou province.
