A new outlet for furniture retailer IKEA opened Thursday in North China's Tianjin Municipality, said sources with the company.
The store, located in Tianjin's Xiqing District, is IKEA's second outlet in the city and its 27th store on the Chinese mainland.
With an operation area of about 40,000 square meters, the outlet provides nearly 9,000 types of furniture and home products.
IKEA opened its first store on the Chinese mainland in Shanghai in 1998. It now operates a network of 27 stores, three distribution centers, seven delivery centers and an experience center on the Chinese mainland.
Last October, IKEA launched its e-commerce platform which now provides services for 227 Chinese cities.
