The launch ceremony for an ambitious new media convergence center took place in Jiuyuan district, Baotou, in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on June 25, according to a report in the Baotou Daily.
The center -- highlighting the combination of various media channels and platforms -- will bring together traditional forms of media, such as radio and newspapers, with online streaming sites and other new media. Officials said it will not rely on a single point, form or platform, but be multi-point, multi-form and multi-platform, and mainly consists of newspapers, the radio, television and the internet.
