Job fair offers positions for vocational school students

A job fair targetted at vocational school students was held in Harbin, Northeast China’s Heilongjiang province, on April 24, with the goal of boosting graduate employment market.

More than 3,000 vacant positions at 150 companies were on offer at the event, which was attended by nearly 1,960 graduates and 2,000 interns seeking jobs.

Offers for the positions are much higher than previous years, with some positions offering a salary from 4,000 yuan ($581.36) to 6,000 yuan per month, according to information from the organizer.

Approximately 25 percent of the jobseekers signed employment contracts with companies at the fair.

The event was jointly held by Harbin Vocational College of Science and Technology, Harbin Employment Service Center and the human resources and social security bureau of Acheng district.
