Since his first children's book Through the Magic Mirror, a prolific Browne has published more than 50 works, which have been translated into 26 languages, and also won numerous top-tier children's book awards around the world, including two Kate Greenaway Medals from the United Kingdom as well as the Hans Christian Andersen Award, the world's highest recognition available to creators of children's books.
Willy and a series of gorilla characters, which are the most recognizable roles in Browne's work, have become highlights at the display. The author uses them in parodies of many established fine artworks in surrealistic approach.
