China's leading headhunter Liepin Think Tank recently released a white paper on Chinese manufacturing talents which shows that Ningbo ranked first among domestic cities in terms of net inflow of manufacturing talents in 2018.

The paper explores the appeal of major Chinese cities to manufacturing talents based on data analysis and conducted a week-long questionnaire study in six cities boasting the most advanced manufacturing industry.

According to the paper, Ningbo recorded a net inflow of manufacturing talents of 7.56 percent last year. Most of the talents were young people, with those aged between 25 and 30 accounting for 39.31 percent of the total. In addition, the majority of the talents specialized in smart manufacturing, accounting for 62.55 percent of the total.

"Ningbo boasts a mature manufacturing sector and offers many opportunities. That is a big reason why so many manufacturing talents choose to work in the city," said Zheng Yingmei, director of the Liepin Think Tank Research Institute.

The city also has a thriving private economy and a series of preferential policies for talents, which increases its appeal, Zheng added.

Local authorities said that the huge influx of talents will enhance the city's manufacturing industry and promote its intelligent upgrading.
