The intelligent transformation of industries is underway in Binhai New Area in Tianjin, gathering renowned companies in automobiles, biomedicine and other smart manufacturing companies.

Binhai is home to 474 municipal-level or above research institutes, 70 maker spaces and 37 enterprise innovation alliances. A 30 billion yuan fund for smart technology industry has been established.

Located at the intersection of Bohai Bay economic rim and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration, Binhai New Area is the first free trade pilot zone in northern China, as well as a national innovation demonstration zone.

It is committed to becoming a Sino-German Industrial 4.0 intelligent manufacturing center, gathering integrated circuitry and other intelligent industries.

Binhai has welcomed world-renowned smart manufacturing companies such as Honeywell, Siemens, Omar actuators and others to establish branches here and supports traditional manufacturing companies such as Taiyuan Heavy Industry, China Shipbuilding Heavy Industry and Great Wall Motor smart transformation.

After more than three years of business, the sales of Efy Teconology are growing at rate of 200% to 300% every year. Its 8,000 UAVs are widely used in agricultural plant protection, power inspection, and intelligent logistics.

Automobile equipment manufacturing is a pillar industry in Binhai. In 2018, the industry achieved an output value of 146.3 billion yuan, accounting for 16.19% of the total industrial output value.

At present, the newly-launched FAW-Volkswagen North China Base produces more than 800 vehicles per day, and the FAW Toyota plant has an annual production capacity of 100,000 units.

Binhai has become an important base for the new energy automobile industry in China. It has built a whole industrial chain which provides services from power batteries, electrical motors, partial and whole vehicle manufacturing and automobile finance to automotive after-service.

International leading performances have been achieved in many aspects such as power battery and electric drive systems.

Recognized officially by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Science and Technology, Binhai functions as the national bio-industry base, the national pharmaceutical product export base and an industrial base for modernization of traditional Chinese medicine.  

It is becoming the most prominent base in the field of biomedicine innovation in China with the greatest advantages of industrial clusters.

In 2019, CanSinoBio Company successfully debut on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange after a decade of hatching and development in Binhai New Area, creating a sensation in the bio-tech industry.
