Summer tour industry summit held in Changchun

The 2019 China (Changchun) summer tour industry summit was held in Changchun, capital of Northeast China’s Jilin province, on June 21.

It was jointly hosted by the China Tourism Academy, the Public Meteorological Service Center of the China Meteorological Administration (CMA), and Changchun municipal government, to provide a platform for cities to exchange experiences in developing the summer tour industry.

Lu Fujian, deputy secretary-general of Changchun municipal government, noted at the summit that Changchun is currently cultivating modern service industry featured cultural tourism, and the city’s advantages in summer tour are increasingly being revealed.

Mao Hengqing, deputy secretary of the CPC of the CMA Public Meteorological Service Center delivered a keynote speech during the event, pointing out that the meteorological department has given more scientific suggestions for Changchun’s summer tourism sector, in terms of aspects such as tourism indicators and disaster prevention.

The city should give full play to its advantages in summer tour and put more focus on nighttime tour, to accelerate its economic growth, Mao added.

The summer tour industry summit has been held for the fifth consecutive year, and received increasing public attention.

During this year’s summit, some lists such as “the top 10 summer tour cities in 2019” were released. Changchun, Fusong county, and Dunhua city in Jilin province made it onto the list, with others being Guiyang city, Liupanshui city, Xixiu district and Pu’an county in Guizhou province, Lijiang in Yunnan province, Xining in Qinghai province, and Arxan in Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

In addition, two sub-forums themed around nighttime tourism in summer and urban tourism were also held. And the Changchun center for the China Tourism Academy was also unveiled.
