The China-Germany (Shenyang) High-end Equipment Manufacturing Summit Forum, a platform for boosting industrial exchanges between China and Germany, was held in Shenyang, Northeast China’s Liaoning province, on June 21.
The forum encourages company representatives and experts from China and abroad to come explore ways to integrate the Made in China and German Industry 4.0 strategies.
The forum focused on “making use of artificial intelligence and information technology to accelerate the development of the equipment manufacturing industry.”
The China-Germany (Shenyang) High-end Equipment Manufacturing Innovation Commission, a response to the call for industrial transformation and upgrading, was jointly established by the German Academy of Engineering and Brilliance Auto at the forum.
The commission will focus on the establishment of a think tank consultancy platform, a foreign cooperation platform, an information-sharing platform, an industrial development platform, and a solution provider platform.
The China-Germany Equipment Manufacturing Industrial Park in Shenyang was approved by the State Council on Dec 23, 2015. It has an area of 55 square kilometers planned for construction in Tiexi district, Shenyang, which has a strong equipment manufacturing industry.
The industrial park prioritizes the development of intelligent manufacturing, high-end equipment, automotive manufacturing, industrial services, and strategic emerging industries and will be built into a demonstration area integrating Made in China 2025 and German Industry 4.0.
The park aims to uphold the principle of "small government, big society" while implementing a market-based and enterprise-style management system and developing a China-Germany innovation center, among a variety of other service platforms.
In 2018, 81 projects were introduced with a total of 69.90 billion yuan ($10.18 billion) in investment, including Brilliance Auto’s Tiexi New Plant, which received 20 billion yuan in investment, and the Northern Biomedical Science and Technology Valley project, which received 5 billion yuan in investment.
In 2019, the park plans to carry out 141 key projects and is expected to receive 71 billion yuan in investment.
