The 2019 Jilin City International Marathon was held in Jilin city, Northeast China’s Jilin province, on June 23. Around 30,000 runners from around the world participated in the event.
This year’s marathon is the fourth consecutive session and was hosted by the Chinese Athletic Association, the Jilin municipal government, and the Jilin Provincial Sports Bureau.
It consisted of four events –– a full marathon (42.195 kilometers), a half marathon (21.0975 km), a mini marathon, and a fun run.
The full marathon and half marathon each consisted of 5,000 runners, while the mini marathon and the fun run each consisted of 10,000 runners.
Jilin residents participated in 25 sports-related or artistic performances held along the marathon course to encourage runners.
A runner from Kenya won the men's full marathon with a time of 2 hr 14 min 28 sec, and a runner from Bahrain won the women’s full marathon with a time of 2 hr 34 min 40 sec.
