Kunio Ishihara, former chairman of Tokyo Marine and Nichido Fire Insurance Co Ltd, recently paid a return visit to Third Primary School in Longli county, Southwest China's Guizhou province.
In 2009, the company and the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China jointly launched a program to help build volunteer service bases called "colorful huts" for the children of migrant workers in poor regions. Over the past ten years, a total of 268 colorful huts have been established, playing an active role in volunteer service activities in various places.

Kunio Ishihara and the delegation visited Third Primary School of Longli and learned about the recent developments of the colorful hut as told by teachers and volunteers from Wuhan University in Hubei province. He extended his congratulations to the great achievements made in basic education, as well as local economic and social development. He also attended the launching ceremony of a new colorful hut in Shuicheng county.
Liu Jianbo, director of the Youth Volunteer Action Guidance Center of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, said that they will further explore and optimize the management mode of the colorful huts. Focusing on professional volunteer services, the colorful huts will become the strong resource for left-behind children and children of migrant workers in rural areas.
