Xiamen makes breakthrough in anti-poaching film production

Agreements to produce a raft of key film and television projects, including an anti-poaching film, were signed at a promotional conference on June 17 during the 22nd Shanghai International Film Festival, local media reported.

The movie, which is a joint project between China, New Zealand and African counties, is expected to start shooting in Aotou, a beautiful fishing village in Xiang'an district of Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, at the end of 2019.

Zhang Xizheng, CEO of a film company in Xiang'an as well as the film maker, said that the film project offers a great opportunity to build up a strategic cooperative partnership between the three places.

The upcoming movie has its origins in a real story about the break–up of an international illegal ivory trade organization, which showcases China's determination to combat the trade and support anti–poaching operations in Africa.
