Sunan Shuofang International Airport in Wuxi has launched paperless boarding service for passengers taking domestic flights starting from June.

Passengers departing from Sunan Shuofang International Airport without registered luggage can check in and select their seats from their mobile phones via the application named Umetrip.

Passengers can use the quick response (QR) code generated in the app to go through security check and enter the boarding gate with their identity cards. All domestic flights except for nine Air China and China Southern Airlines can support this service.

The paperless boarding service is expected to bring more convenience and save more time for passengers as they don't need to queue up to get their boarding pass at the counters.

Passengers with registered luggage taking domestic airlines can go to the self-service baggage counters to check in the baggage before using paperless boarding service.

Sunan Shuofang International Airport has become the first experimental airport of Umetrip to apply electronic identity cards. In the near future, passengers are expected to be able to board the plane by simply using their smart phones without taking their ID cards.
