A new safari park -- the largest of its kind in Northeast Asia -- will settle in Changchun Lianhuashan Eco-tourism Resort in Jilin province, in the wake of a cooperation agreement signed by the Changchun Lianhuashan Eco-tourism Resort Management Committee, Hangzhou Aohai Holdings Co and Hangzhou Safari Park Co on June 17.
Officials said it also marked new progress is being made in Jilin-Zhejiang cooperation.
Covering an area of 3 million square meters, the park will cost a total of 3 billion yuan ($433.63 million) to build and is expected to break ground in 2020 and start operating in 2022.
The park will feature over 100 species of animals, and will have large-scale groups of wild animals.
Furthermore, it will integrate the functions of animal and plant protection, research, tourism sightseeing and science education.
On completion, it is expected to become the biggest safari park in Northeast Asia with the largest area and the most animals.
