An exchange meeting was held in Xiamen's Siming district, eastern Fujian province, for talents from both sides of the Taiwan Straits in the field of culture and creativity, June 19.
According to the organizers, talents are the vital driving force of the cultural and creative industry. Through this event, talents from both sides of the Taiwan Straits can better understand the industry in Xiamen and Siming district specifically.
During the event, the Xiamen cultural and creative industry association signed strategic cooperation agreements with related associations in Taiwan in a bid to enhance cross-Straits exchange and talent training in the industry.
Siming district has been improving its talent service system in recent years. The district issued a series of preferential policies for young people in Taiwan to apply for jobs and start businesses in the district last year.
To date, a total of 15.85 million yuan ($2.3 million) has been used to support Taiwan youth in Siming, with 297 young people from Taiwan having received subsidies under the policy.
In addition, Siming district focuses on solving housing problems for Taiwan talents. Besides increasing the supply of talent housing, the district also provides different housing subsidies to meet the requirements of all types of talents.
