To further deepen the exchanges and cooperation between China, South Korea, and Japan, two friendly exchange sessions were held respectively in South Korea's capital of Seoul and Osaka in Japan in mid-June.

Hosted by the information office of the Guangzhou municipal people's government, the sessions saw the participation of many important guests including Qiu Guohong, Chinese ambassador to South Korea, Li Tianran, Chinese consul general in Osaka, and Gwangju mayor Lee Yong-seop.

China and South Korea are geographically close, economically tied, culturally similar, and emotionally connected. During the increasingly close exchanges between China and South Korea, we have seen countless touching stories and many inseparable friendships develop, Qiu said.

Lee said that Guangzhou and Gwangju have maintained close cooperation in many fields such as in the economy, culture, and sports. The mayor also welcomed Guangzhou citizens to the 18th FINA World Championships during a China-South Korea friendship exchange session held in Seoul on June 10.

During the China-Japan friendly exchange session held in Osaka on June 12, Li noted that the cooperation between China and Japan has provided new opportunities in various fields as Sino-Japanese relations are back on the track of peace, friendship, and cooperation.

He expressed hope that Guangdong province will continue to increase exchanges and cooperation with Japan, seize the opportunities for China-Japan relations to boost development, practice the new concept of Sino-Japanese cooperation, as well as promote new achievements in Sino-Japanese exchanges.
