Huawei will increase investment in Qinzhou and deepen its cooperation with the city in the fields of 5G, smart city construction, environmental protection, as well as emergency and public safety innovation, according to the first investment promotion conference of Qinzhou Huawei Cloud Town held on June 18.

The Qinzhou Huawei Cloud Town Enterprise Alliance was established at the investment promotion conference to promote the rapid development of the big data industry in Qinzhou. Jointly built by China and ASEAN countries, the China-ASEAN Information Harbor was launched at the beginning of the year, forming an information hub with Guangxi as a fulcrum. Qinzhou has become an important node of the information harbor.

In addition, Qinzhou is the only node of Huawei's global public cloud in Guangxi. Huawei has developed the digital industrialization and industrial digitization of the city through the establishment of Huawei Cloud Town, consolidating the foundation of Qinzhou's digital economy development.

The launching of Qinzhou Huawei Cloud Town on May 7 marked the initial completion of the Qinzhou big data industry cluster platform. To date, a number of informatization projects such as China-ASEAN Port Logistics Information Center, Education Cloud, and Medical Imaging Cloud have been completed. In addition, a number of affiliated companies such as Huawei, Foxconn, and Yinjiang have settled in the town.

Liang Hui, deputy mayor of Qinzhou, said that Qinzhou will build a big data industry ecosystem centered on Huawei and accelerate the development of the China-ASEAN international port smart logistics center, big data processing center, offshore outsourcing service center, and Guangxi information consumption center. It is planned that by the end of 2020, the number of enterprises in Qinzhou Huawei Cloud Town will reach 50 or more, as well as the income of the software and information technology services industry will reach 3 billion yuan ($434.49 million).
