The city of Ordos successfully boosted its global profile when it staged a tourism road show at the 33th International Travel Expo Hong Kong on June 13, organizers said.
A group of Ordos performers excited participants at the expo when they presented the city’s distinctive styles of local singing and dancing.
In addition, the Ordos tourism spots that made impressive presentations to the audience included the city's two 5A-level scenic areas -- the Mausoleum of Genghis Khan and the Resonant Sand Gorge -- as well as the Ordos Grassland.
In recent years, Ordos has staged a series of tourism road shows across the country as part of its ambitious efforts to promote its travel industry.
So far, the tourism road shows have hit Shaanxi and Shanxi provinces, Ningxia Hui autonomous region, the Yangtze River Delta region, Pearl River Delta region, some eastern China’s cities and Hong Kong, among others.
Officials said that moving forward, Ordos will be eyeing efforts to attract more foreigners to the city in the hope of expanding its international reach.
