The media convergence center of Xiacheng district in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province was unveiled on June 17 as part of the district's efforts to promote the merging of conventional and new forms of mass communication.
The center brings about 15 media platforms, including print, television, radio, video and the internet into one platform for the purposes of delivering a dynamic experience.
Over 30 government officials and industrial leaders attended the unveiling ceremony.
The district also reached agreements with the China Academy of Art and Zhejiang University of Media and Communications to cultivate media talents by leveraging the disciplinary advantages and media resources of the universities.
As a central business district in downtown Hangzhou, Xiacheng strives to build itself into a hub for digital economy and the international entertainment industry.
Over the years it has achieved remarkable progress in social and economic development. In 2015, the district led the province in total retail sales of consumer goods. It was also named a national street service and management innovation experimental area, the only one in Zhejiang province.
