According to local authorities, over 67,000 tourists visited Lushunkou in Dalian, a city in Northeast China's Liaoning province, during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday from June 7 to 9, an increase of 10.6 percent over the same period last year.
Scenic areas in Lushunkou made around 1.59 million yuan ($228,900) in ticket sales, an increase of 10 percent over the same period last year.
Cherry picking and eco-rural tourism proved extremely popular among tourists. The Submarine Museum in Lushunkou, the Qingfeng Town film and television center, and surrounding cherry gardens introduced a number of package deals, helping increase the number of tourists.
