Shanghai unveils 21 opinions on e-sports, gaming industry

Twenty Opinions were recently launched to accelerate the construction of a global center for e-sports and promote healthy development of the gaming industry.

Shanghai will improve the business environment for the gaming industry and expand the industrial chain so as to comprehensively build a global center for e-sports in three to five years.

According to the Opinions, Shanghai will boost the gaming industry in nine aspects such as improving sci-tech research and development, building e-sports competition systems, enhancing e-sports media development, and developing talent training systems etc.

The city will construct three to four large class-A e-sports venues qualified for holding top-level competitions in the field. A number of competitive e-sports teams and high-end talent will be brought together.

In the future, the Shanghai E-sports Week, global e-sports conferences and high-end e-sports will be organized. The city will also promote the construction of public e-sports service platforms such as industrial research centers and education consultation services.
