A delegation led by Mohammad Qasim Tarin, CEO of a US-based company, visited China Second Metallurgy Group Co in Baotou, in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on June 12, according to local media.
The delegation learned about the history, main businesses and achievements of the Baotou-based company and called for further commercial cooperation between the two companies.
Founded in 1956, China Second Metallurgy Group Co is a company specializing in engineering projects and equipment manufacturing, with real estate operations. It is a subsidiary of China Metallurgical Group Corporation, one of the world’s top 500 companies.
The group has registered capital of 366 million yuan ($53.7 million) and boasts 2,390 engineering and technical management personnel. It boasts 89 first-class nationally qualified architects, 168 second-level nationally qualified architects, and 106 technicians and senior technicians among its ranks.
The National Excellent Metallurgical Construction Industry award has commended the company since 1999 and more than 70 of its projects have received national or regional engineering awards. The company also boasts more than 200 national and regional prizes and achievements in scientific and technological development and research.
