Newly-launched 'Jilin-1' satellite sends back images

High-resolution satellite “Jilin-1” 03A sent back its first images on June 6, after being launched into space on the Long March 11 rocket over the Yellow Sea at 12:06 on June 5.

The satellite, independently developed by Changchun-based Chang Guang Satellite Technology Co Ltd, is part of the “Jilin-1” satellite family, of which 12 others are currently in orbit.

It is able to take detailed photographs and provide remote sensing information services for Chinese government and industries, as well as countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.
