Cellphone app serves as guide for tourists

Zengcuoan, China's most artistic fishing village, launched a cellphone application for touring and shopping in late May, local media reported.

The app is a gaming program made up of 30 levels along four tourist routes. It encourages tourists to take pictures and upload their photos in a bid to help promote local stores.

Located in Xiamen in the southeast of Fujian province, Zengcuoan is a small village but has more than 1,600 brick-and-mortar stores.

The program will expand its coverage to more areas, such as Gulangyu Island, Zhongshan Road and Shapowei Art Zone, in the near future.

Zengcuoan, a former fishing village in Siming district, is attracting tourists from around the world with its unique culture and arts.
